Integrated M.Tech

Admissions Announcement for 2018

IIITB introduced a 5 year Integrated M.Tech. (iMTech) program from 2012 onwards. The Integrated M.Tech. program is a 5-year integrated program intended for students who have completed or are completing Plus Two (or equivalent). At the end of five years of the program, successful students get an M.Tech. degree. An additional B.Tech. degree will be awarded subject to pending clarification on UGC notification regarding the matter of award of two degrees at the time of graduation.

Separate admissions are being done in two branches at IIITB: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).


Minimum Requirements

The minimum qualification for admission to the Integrated M.Tech. programme at IIITB is a first-class in 10 + 2 (or equivalent) with Mathematics as one of the subjects. Students expecting to complete the minimum requirement by August 2018 may also apply. 

Selection Procedure

Admissions to the Integrated M.Tech. programme is solely on the basis of score of Paper-I of JEE (Main) announced under the Joint Entrance Examination JEE (Main) – 2018, conducted by CENTRAL BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION. 

There is no fixed cut-off of JEE (Main) Score in Paper 1 for admissions to the MTech programme. In 2017, admission offers were made up to JEE score CSE:196 and ECE:186. The JEE Score cut-off for 2018 will vary depending upon the actual applications received.

How to Apply

Candidates can apply online, the link will be available here from May 2, 2018.

Candidates will be automatically considered for both CSE and ECE branches at the time of making admission offers. Separate applications for CSE and ECE NOT needed. The branch for which admission offer is made (whether CSE or ECE or both) will be mentioned in the offer of admission based on JEE Score of the candidate and also availability of seats.

All applicants need to pay a non-refundable application fee of INR 1,000.


The students who are joining the programme in July 2018, will pay tuition fee Rs.1,34,000/- per semester.

These rates are subject to revision from time to time. The tentative tuition fee per semester, the students who will be admitted in July 2018, will pay for the programme is as follows:

In addition, students need to pay hostel and campus facility fee of Rs. 33,000 per semester and 24,000 per semester for catering and food services.

Other costs for books and supplies, travel, purchase of a laptop, etc. need to be factored by students depending on their individual circumstances.
